Amuseme
I have to admit that I never learned anything about manners growing up. It was a hostile environment. I was never corrected about how I spoke to someone or saying "please" and "thank you". Giving compliments was never modeled, neither was being corrected for interrupting others.
I learned to be oblivious and often rude. I had to learn this stuff in order to keep friendships and it was, and still is at times, really hard to remember to do.
Maybe it has nothing to do with Nature and is a Nurture (or lack of) outcome instead of BP. Is this something you've struggled with?

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Common sense and manners took me up the corporate ladder and saved my ass many times coming down! LOL
My mom was very good about instilling manners into me from the time I was very little. I was brought up to be respectful of everyone I came across, no matter who they are.
hugs and puppy kisses
I'm still polite even when I don't want to be. It's just an automatic response.
I didn't know mom's could be nice and encouraging and loving until I met my friends parents!
My Mum spanked me, looking back I'm glad she did. Although I resented it growing up, it saved me from my worst instincts.
The verbal reprimands were the worst.
I think as well I want people I come in contact with to feel at ease and comfortable around me so I go out of my way to be "extra" polite and personable (when I can).
