Bipolar Disorder Support Group
Bipolar disorder is not just a single disorder, but a category of mood disorders marked by periods of abnormally high energy and euphoria, often accompanied by bouts of clinical depression. This is the place to talk about your experience with bipolar disorder, learn from others' experiences, and find support.

so my new therapist is only in the office in Thursday's and every other Sunday. So I had to ask my boss to redo the summer schedule she just finished to allow for me to have Thursday afternoons off work. She asked me if there was anyway to schedule for another day or time and of course I said no. I feel very guilty and like I am inconveniencing my boss and coworkers just so I can see a therapist. But you all know how important it is to have a good therapist and I feel like this on episode is. I know she is professional and I know she will be trustworthy and I know I will grow.
All ive told my boss was that I had appointments for maintenance of my health which isn't a lie. But I feel I owe my boss a further explanation especially when I ask her for two more afternoons off this month.
I don't want to tell her I have bipolar but I was thinking of telling her that I have a chronic illness that is currently not causing problems but that I need to see a clinician once a week for maintainance.
Thoughts and ideas please?

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Its kind of a strange schedule for a Therapist..what do you do in case of an Emergency, just wait?
I don't know what you do for a living, but they don't have to continualy give you time off.
For me, it is entirely too easy to burden folks with way more information than needed when I "disclose" my condition. I try to keep my disclosures to info which is either necessary or requested. I offer up scheduling info (dates and times) to those whose schedules are tied to mine. I answer direct questions as simply and directly as possible and/or comfortable for myself. When no direct questions are asked, I hold my tongue. We all got problems and I, for one, don't want to dedicate my life to listening to them. I don't expect anyone to care more about my problems than I care about theirs.
