About to start Atarax

Hi everyone. I'm Andi. This is my first post here ever and I'm kinda nervous about it. I just get a tad nervous when posting on forums (probably because of online bullying in the past but I know you guys won't do that!).

Well I'm done rambling now, I suppose.

My psychiatrist prescribed me some Atarax recently to use when needed for my anxiety and I just wanted to know about other people's experiences with it. Good? Bad? Nothing? I just now took one just to gauge my reaction to it before I had to actually take it for anxiety but it hasn't been long enough for me to see any results yet. Anyway, I'd just like to hear your stories concerning Atarax...

Last time I was in a psych hospital they switched me from Ativan to Atarax. It worked well but now I rarely take it because I also take Zyprexa and Lamictal for my bipolar and psychosis (and it helps with anxiety too). And Atarax was good too because it's an allergy pill, which helps me with my allergies and it's not addictive like the benzos. Good luck!

I had to Google Atarx to find info on it.

It seems to be RXed for anxiety.

I didn't read the part about side effects or other med interactions

Love atarax...use it for anxiety and to sleep...it is gentle and not habit forming.
