Well, let's see if I can make this short. I am a part of several different groups on here so if you've read this in one group you've read them all. I'm hoping by posting this to all my group I can get more opinions.First things first, I am 30 years old have been diagnosed with Aspergers, Depression, anxiety and am bipolar. With this combo you would think I would be on disability, but am not.
I married my husband 3 years ago and in that time I have have had multiple jobs. I am currently unemployed and prefer to be unemployed mainly for anxiety issues involving difficulties with interaction with others. I've tried to find jobs that doesn't require being in front of people or talking to people, but can't find anything. I've worked in back rooms (unloading trucks) several times, but once it's unloaded i have to go out and face people that ask questions while I try to work. It's difficult for me to get things done at the time I'm expected to have them done, but then add on top of that people interrupting my work and it is just bad...
What I am getting at is, my husband is getting stressed with all of the bills being his responsibility which I completely understand. His stress makes me feel guilty because I feel like I should go out and get a job, but when you have so many things working against you it's not easy. It's kind of a lose, lose for me because if I work I feel depressed because I can't keep up and am so exhausted all the time, but if I don't work I feel guilty because he has to pay all of the bills himself. I really don't know what to do.
My husband is an avid hunter and I really worry that if I were to get disability he wouldn't be allowed to have guns around me because of my diagnoses'. I am pretty stable and am not a threat to anyone. I have a psychologist that I go to and she has done a lot of testing to make sure that I am okay to be around guns and the such. Does anyone have experience with this?
My husband is very supportive of any decision that I make. I just want to make sure that I make the best decision for us. Thanks for any help/advice.

I'm feeling down,, and got alot on my mind right now. I got grief going on, on top my depression and anxiety and now I got to worry about somewhere to live since I can't afford living here since my mom passed. So many bad things have happened since my mom passed. One thing after another it seems. Yesterday our fence fell from a storm that hit, had to call someone to prop it up. Thank...
Do you want to go on disability or do you want to pursue a career?
I would love to be able to work, but the anxiety, depression and many moods I go through when working is not worth it. When I work all of my free time is spent in bed being so depressed that I can barely function. Another thing I worry about if I get disability is I don't want government insurance (I have no idea what it's called). I have insurance through my husbands work and it's wonderful, but if I get insurance through the government 99% of the doctors I am currently going to doesn't accept it. It's just another thing for me to stress, worry and consider.
The reason this has even become an issue is finances. It's getting to the point that we're having trouble paying our mortgage because the payment keeps going up every year.
Your psychologist says you are OK in the house with your husband's guns so believe her. She might have to write a report for your disability.
You'll also need a doctor's report for disability so make sure you have one who knows your medication and symptom history, a pdoc is better than a general doctor.
Financially you either need to get a job or apply for disability. Why not do both? Looking for a background job that you can cope with better.
I'm sure your husband will feel better if you are actively looking for a job.
Speaking to a Disability lawyer will put your mind at ease.
I'd go on disability...you'll get a steady amount every month.
You can also have a part time job w/disability.
I have a cleaning business and my husband who is on disability works with me. Your income can't be over a certain amount, but it's an amount you can easily live with.
There are lots of anti-anxiety meds out there. I'm on Metoprolol. It's mostly for heart problems but is also used for Anxiety. It works great.
I was on disability and my husband had guns. The only way they will find out about them is if you tell them. In fact I had a gun myself while I was on disability, but sold it when I got suicidal.
I doubt you will get disability without your psychiatrist's recommendation, so good idea to go see a lawyer.
Maybe consider asking to go on it again if it helped you?
Surely its better to take Seroquel long term if it helped you?
I think this should be the first step IMHO
What about working from home? .. Something online?... I would try to find stability and from there make a decision for your future... Big hug...xo
Hand guns are a different story here.
Hope you get it all figured out
