That is right in two days I will officially be a Non-Smoker. I am at a carton a day in preparation... just kidding down to a pack a day. Doc has given me the step 1 nicotine patch. I have tic-tacs orange to help. But most of all I have some serious house cleaning to do to help me stay distracted.
My diet has been going good and if I can keep at it with the withdrawal I hope not to bloat up like a non smoking balloon. Thursday will be a busy day getting rid of ashtrays an stuff. I have taken the weekend thru Monday off so I can sleep through the worst of it if I have to.
I know you all are supportive and I really appriciate it. There is one thing I am looking for though. I saw a list once of a time frame of changes I can expect in my physical feelings, like taste changing, breathing easier, etc. If anyone has or knows where I can find a list like this again I would be forever grateful.
Anyone wants to quit with me hey the more the merrier!

Good for you. I love your optimism and spirit. You can do it!
I wasn't aware of the physical changes--although, duh of course there would be--but I know that there can be some sense of "grieving" that goes along with it. I hope your doc has prepared you for that as well, although it sounds like you're surrounded by support.
This is coming from a non-smoker, just to be transparent. Just the friend of many successful quitters, so I know you'll be able to join the ranks
Hmmm. Maybe I could give up COokies? Yeah, no more nice, warm, tollhouse morsels for me.....oh, wait. I've already Given up cookies.
*sigh* Um, I can give up Chocolate....I haven't given up That....(no! No! I don't WANNA give up chocolate!!)
Maybe I can give up posting about food. Or smoking. ...I could try to give up my Parents....yeah, I could live with that. And maybe give up...give up.....
Nope. Can't think of Another thing I want to give up.
Uh, I'll keep thinking....I really don't want you to "give Up" things Alone

"never take another puff"
You can do it !
20 min : blood pressure and pluse rate return to normal
48 hours : Better sense of smell and taste
72 hours : can test 100% nicotine free
10 days : the average ex-user experiences less than 2 craving episodes per day, each lasting 3 min or less
2 weeks : recovery feels stronger
2-3 months : lung function improves, heart attack risk falls
3 months walking is easier, any cough likely to dissapear
It is the time about the change of taste and smell that motivates me. I know I will smell the smoke on things but I will also get to taste food more. (watching the diet of course.
Thanks for the support everyone less than 24 hours until I become a Non-Smoker =)
