Bereavement Support Group
Are you grieving the loss of a loved one? Whether you lost someone recently or it's been years, grief and its accompanying emotions can be complicated to cope with. Join our online support group to connect with a supportive group of people who really know how you feel. Help is right here.
I just wanted to let the members of this group who are grieving the loss of a spouse or partner know that there is a Daily Strength group for Widows & Widowers. There are some things that come up while grieving the loss of a spouse/partner that can only be understood by those grieving that same kind of loss. If that is what you are going through, please know you are not alone, and that you can join us at:

I am a Community Leader appointed by Daily Strength for the Widows & Widowers Group (you can identify the CLs by the little blue CL badge on our photos). I joined DS almost 11 years ago, after my husband Cliff died. Being on DS, and specifically being in the Widows & Widowers Group, helped me to rebuild my life. I stayed on to help others new to this kind of loss.
The group is open to anyone grieving a spouse or partner - straight or gay, young or old, married or not. If you are suffering the same kind of loss, we'd like to help. It is also perfectly all right to belong to more than one group here - you don't have to leave the Bereavement group to join us.
I am sorry that anyone needs our group, but also hope it helps some of you to know that we are here and you don't have to go it alone.
Love and Hugs,
Martha

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Stand not at my grave and weep,
I am not there beneath your feet,
Look upwards if you would see me now –
I am the autumn soft sun – I am the rainbow.
Hear my childhood laughter roll over the koppies,
Listen to my feet as they run rejoicing through the fields
Pick and eat from the tree, the fruit that it yields -
As we did when we were young and carefree, you and me.
I am young again and as my spirit beholds you, I clearly see
That you too have not grown old, but softer, gentler than you used to be.
I am the wind that blows salt seaward to the land,
I am the lush green grass on which you stand –
I am the blush of the little rose; you hold in memory of me
I am the mountain and the crashing sea –
I am everything I want to be - for I am spirit, wild and free.
I am knowledge, I am truth, and I know at last, the mystery
I am so sorry that you're in so much pain
Beautiful poem Barbara..... xo

February 2nd was the 1st anniversary of my wife's passing. We were side by side through a lot of tough stuff and alot of joy. I lost her without warning, and she passed while I was doing CPR. I find that I am still in shock at some level. I'm a retired paramedic, and I've seen much injury and death, but NOTHING had prepared me for that day, and it's aftermath. I still feel like something that has been demolished. And that now I have to completely rebuild myself. I feel like a puddle of water.
Thanks for listening and my sympathies to all.
Andy
