It's been one month today since my son passed in his sleep from SIDS. One month since I started cpr on my child. One month since the ems worked on him for 30 minutes just to tell me he's really gone.
He was only 3 months old. I can't do anything. I can't get out of the house. I can't play with my daughter. I can't clean. I just want to be with him. I feel like my life is now just waiting to be with him. Everyday I get farther away from when I had him, but I get closer to when I can have him again. But what, how long will that be? How many years will I have to sit and wait before I can hold him again?
Will I ever be able to be happy? Is that even a possibility for me? Can I be happy knowing he's not here? I'm in a dark cloud I can't shake.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

A month is still a very short time. One thing you can grab onto is this: others have suffered similar losses and have found their way to a better place. It is hard, but you can do it too.
Getting into a bereavement group that meets in real life has been a huge thing for many of us. If you have not found such a group, please look for one. Many hospitals offer them as to do many churches. If you are not religious and the class is, talk to the leader anyway and tell them where you are coming from. The class I took was religious based, but it was a very soft sell and the non religious among us were able to disengage for the brief periods of faith based talk.
My mom lost her 3rd child at birth. I must have been 3 or 4 at the time; I have no memory of the loss, or even of mom being pregnant. So however she and dad got through it did not have a negative impact on me or my younger sister.
I believe that the key is to accept that it will be a hard road, but that you can manage it. Allow your emotions to happen, but work very hard on managing them. As time passes you will learn things that work for you. There is nothing wrong with avoiding things that trigger you, especially as you are reacting to things.
Please feel free to vent here as much as you need.
Gentle hugs

It'll be 19 years since I lost my daughter at birth and it's said it gets "easier with time" I feel like, truth is we just learn how to live with the pain.
I am very, very sorry you have gone through this!
