I never thought I'd be the one joining a group of those who have lost someone close to them... and gosh... it does hurt.
So this week Monday I get out of school and as soon as I do, my best friend texts me telling me we have to go to Massachusetts. (My boyfriend [19] was going to college there and I live in NYC). My best friend is his health care proxy that's why she got the call. So she gets her mom and we drive to MA ( I still don't know why though) and we get to the hospital and they ask to see *my boyfriend* and that's when I realized he was in the hospital. He was on life support after suffering from an intracranial hemorrhage because of a suicide attempt. He stood on life support for almost 24 hours and my best friend decided to take him off of it and now... he's gone. It's only been 4 days and I haven't slept or eaten anything and I'm only 16. This wasn't just any boyfriend... he was honestly the best and it's like I can't deal being without him. I was begging and offering my life instead of his because he had so much promise and he would've done more than I ever can. It's just been crying non stop and I just sometimes wish I never fell in love so I don't have to feel this pain, but he's also given the best years imaginable and I honestly feel like being with him and I don't know what to do at all because I can't bring my self to talk to my best friend and my other friends know, but they don't know it was a suicide and I just feel like I could've stopped him and I feel so crappy and done with life. I don't know what to do anymore...

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

Losing someone to suicide is devastating ..... It's going to take time and support to work through your grief
Another hug and a blessing......xo
I, too, feel like I can't go on without Derrick, he's the one I wanted to spend my life with. But I see the grief his passing has caused his friends and family, and I do not want mine to do that, and to be quite honest, that is what is stopping me. Find a support group, and talk to your friends. My friends do help, but I find Derrick's friends and family help me in more ways than my own friends can.
It will take time, but eventually it does become more bearable.
