Three weeks ago, today, my mother died. She had been having health problems but nothing serious enough that the doctors thought she would die. She was very dehydrated, causing her blood pressure to be low, and she was fainting from that. She was in the hospital receiving IV fluids. She had called me that morning, on my way to work, and told me that she was feeling better due to the fluids. She sounded good on the phone. We made small talk and told each other, I love you. Tweleve hours later she arrested and died. I was completely shocked. I'm 49 years old and my world feels like it has ended. I am an only child and my mother and I were extremely close. This month my husband and I will be celebrating 25 years of marriage. I told my mom that I was going to have a party to celebrate. I never dreamed that I would be sending invitations to her memorial and not to our silver wedding anniversary celebration. I feel lost. I feel pain that I have never felt in my life. It's all I can do to get through the day/work. Sometimes it feels so bad that I just want to die myself. It doens't matter how old you are, when your mother dies IT HURTS!!!!! I'm hoping this support forum can help me during this difficult process.

Once again I've had a fever today. I'm not going to the hospital because that's a huge waste of time but I did schedule a dr appointment for Wednesday afternoon.

It's impossible to imagine what it's like to lose someone before passing and it's always somewhat of a shock even if the person is really ill
I think that you received a very precious gift when you and your mom were able to have that amazing phone conversation.... You both said what was important
I personally don't believe that when someone passes that it's the end.... So faith helps me that way even though I don't have answers.... It's helped me with grief
It's a process as cold as that sounds and it takes time..... A RL support group might be a great help for you
Perhaps when the time comes for your 25th anniversary you can also make it a celebration of your moms' life
Another hug and a blessing.....xo
I pray your family will give you all the support you need during this most difficult time. God bless you.
