i lost my twin sister last March, 2019. I am trying to act "normal" to thoae around me; but it only works for short periods of time before i retreat to the safety of my room and sleep. I SLEEP MORE THAN 12 HRS A NIGHT. THAT'S ENOUGH FOR NOW.

So I have been having a lot of health issues and my cardiologist felt that he didn't get clear enough images of my heart in the office, so he wanted to do a Trans-esophegeal heart Echocardiocgram in the hospital. I was pretty nervous about it, because I've never had any procedures related to my heart or any other major organs. I've had knee surgery and thyroid surgery, but to me anything to do...

I'm so sad for you. It's like the passing of your twin is also the passing of self; this sorrow has to be a difficult thing to bear. You write that you are trying to act normal to those around you. Interestingly, this is not always a good idea. Others actually will understand your honest thoughts and feelings of pain & sorrow. Thing is, grief has a way of bringing on phobic types of thoughts, but no wall of reacting to or pretending to shelter your feeling will keep you safe from the emotional drama going inside of your heart.
Knowing that others really want to help is often a challenge to accept, yet opening up seals off anything from the outside that causes you to doubt what you imagine to be true on the inside, your internal feelings. And it may be a good time to bond with the idea of seeking professional services to get you through the pain and agony of your twin's passing. Isolating is normal; however, you really should be guided by what a good grief therapist can reinforce in your thoughts as what is involved with this "new normal."
It's like putting duct tape on cracked cement to go on sleeping through your pain every day. The pain will only grow or increase until you get the proper treatment to help you sort through your grief. And a good professional, dealing with bereavement, may understand how important it is to bridge your pain to a healthier life. I pray for you today. Many hugs & much love, franrebel.
You may need some help for you to work through this very painful sorrow..... I understand that sleep may seem like a way to shut it out.... The problem is that it will still be there...…
Grief is a process that takes time and we all grieve in our own ways.... I think though that grief shared can make a difference... A RL support group might help you.....xo
