I am new to this group...I lost my husband of 19 and a half years to Mesolthelioma in June of 2019.
For the most part I have coped really well and in many ways an on the road to recovery.
However Christmas 2020 has been very difficult emotionally. Our 21st wedding anniversary was on Christmas Eve and it mades the so called "Joyous Season" a little bit emotionaly charged for me. I completely fell apart on the Monday before Christmas and felt I had splintered into a thousand pieces inside, I cried like I havent for months and in hind sight totally startled me...
Although I know none of you I just needed to reach out to people who probably understand way more than those people around me who really didnt get why this was happening to me 18 months after my beloved died....

Life has been really hard this past year. I'm really feeling down and alone. I can't talk to my family about my depression and anxiety their not very understanding about it. It's really hitting me since my mother passed a few months ago, plus stress from having to eventually move. When i was in the ER February 16th 2025, i was being admitted to ICU where i was for 3 weeks, then had to relearn to walk for 3 weeks in another hospital rehab floor, the nurse told me something that made me feel for over 18 months now that i was finally *safe*. She told me that the guy who raped and beat me 21 years ago now almost 20 years at that time, was in prison as of a month before that...

I think letting out your grief and pain is really important even though it's so very painful
We have a good and active group on here Widows and Widowers for people who have lost their life partner.... People are in different stages of grieving on the board and it's a supportive place to go
