Bedwetting Support Group
Bedwetting (or nocturnal enuresis or sleepwetting) is involuntary urination while asleep. It is the normal state of affairs in infancy, but can be a source of embarrassment when it persists into school age or the teen or adult years. Find others who are coping with a bedwetting problem and share your experiences and questions.

Hi all,
I'm just wondering how many others here (whether bedwetters yourselves, or parents of bedwetters) choose to manage your bedwetting (or your child's bedwetting) without using diapers, pull-ups, or other forms of absorbent underwear? At times it seems like most of the discussion in groups like this revolves around diapers, but I really haven't used them very much (either as a child or now as an adult) and I believe I have been able to manage my bedwetting just fine without them. I just have a plastic cover to protect the mattress, wash my sheets and take a bath or shower when I need to, and move on.
Anyone else here that goes the non-diaper route in dealing with bedwetting? Please note that I have nothing against those who do choose to use diapers (or the like) -- I'm just wondering how many others here are like me, and choose to manage without them some or most of the time. How do you manage things? Thanks for any responses!

So with that said, my bed of course has a rubber sheet, but I also have several Brolley sheets that I recommend highly. After a bedwetting episode I just peel it off and put another one on my bed.

When I was a kid and a constant bedwetter my mother on the advice of our district nurse took me out of nappies at about 8 or 9 years old. It was thought that being wet and uncomfortable would make me want to become dry at night. It didn't work. I continued to wet the bed right up until the end of my teens. I was in my early 20's before I was reliably dry at night. On becoming a bedwetter again in late middle age to be honest there was no option but to wear a pad or nappy at night in order to keep our bed as dry as possible.

In 2013 I had an accident resulting in spinal injury at the base of my neck with paralysis from there down, spasticity (muscle contractions and spasms) and double incontinence. Both my anus and my urethra have been left closed except with manual intervention. I hardly ever pass urine via the usual route (I have a suprapubic catheter passing directly into my bladder about 2 inches below my...
