Atrial fibrillation (AF or afib) is an abnormal heart rhythm (cardiac arrhythmia) which involves the two small, upper heart chambers (the atria). Heart beats in a normal heart begin after electricity generated in the atria by the sinoatrial node spread through the heart and cause contraction of the heart muscle and pumping of blood.
I've only been diagnosed for a few weeks, and I've been taking metoprolol. At first, the dosage was half a 25 mg tablet twice a day. After I had my treadmill test, my cardiologist increased the dosage to a full tablet twice a day because I went into AFib during the test. The higher dosage leaves me feeling like I can barely function; I'm so sleepy. The morning dose is especially rough. I feel like I can barely drive to work, and I drag all day. I'm going to ask the doc if I can go back to the half tablet dose, but does anyone else have problems with fatigue from metoprolol? Thanks!

My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper? Im ready to start...
It's good to hear that your body adjusts over time, but I wonder if that means the drug is less effective over time? I have read that some AFib meds "wear off" after a few years, and surgical procedures or pacemakers are the only option. So many questions! What's a newbie AFibber to do? Folks in this Group are most helpful. Thanks!
It's good u joined here we can all help answer pretty much any questions you have. We are diverse too. Meaning some are for ablations and some won't have ablations.
