last year i had never heard of this
asperges

but ive had a few people say that they think im
aspie ?

the main ones were teachers who have delt with it
i know they think it because i look away so much
i get quite emotionaly confused and awful at dates because i dont read signals well at all unless the ques are stupidly large
so i end up dating quite over the top people because i can read the ques .

one of the teacher types used to say i have autistic traits
because of the way i act. everyone seems to think i have a High IQ

and i do get high praise for the way i come up with
invetions visual thinking and my creative efforts
but i really dont feel like im special at all

i just think a lot and keep trying where others will stop
.its like yes anyone can come up with an answer
if you dont stop

PS ..(i cant spell but im trying hard)
i do have OCD things that do change after time

i get very fixed on one thing
.i call it light house thinking
i beam on one thing and that thing is everything
.it can even make me ill

posting here to talk about faces or eyes on magazines.
I have trouble with eyes or stares
not sure which

i even turn mags with large faces on the front cover over
because the the stare is to much for me ..
but i dont know if this is just me ?

eye contact is a hard one for me
i dont even know why i have to break it off
.its just hard for me ...

in some ways it would be like looking at someone talking who is nude ....but its not even quite like that

its just a forced feeling to look away
.i just feel the eye contact and its like a count down ,,,
eyes ,eyes ,eyes cant
keep this up !

If it's any consoling "alantm", just look at IM'ing and the words used there. Or the fact that I use tru instead of true; or using a "k" instead of "c" sometimes. It's part of my style and other times I just plain type sometimes in a "dyslexic" pattern. I just have to make sure I reread my post.

Without a diagnosis, I think one can still figure out the similarities of the issues in Aspergers with the issues in one's life. Then go to programs or professional that help you with those areas (e.g social skills, communicaiton skills).

If those agency's don't allow you in then maybe you need to get the diagnosis. If you self-identify, sometimes that's all that's needed in most cases.

I got this PM from somebody. I'm assuming it was because of this topic.

Very disappointed by you defending and excusing a comment made by someone else that was just rude, mean and not supportive or called for---esp. directed at a person who is posting for the first time and looking for support. How pathetic and sad. I have noticed elsewhere that this is not the only post where you and this Unduk...whatever double team in a way that is not supportive or helpful. Why are you even here, then? Save the caustic stuff for your own life. I will not be joining a group so critical, negative, and juvenile.

I apologize for offending you, the writer of this.

We do not doubleteam. I just don't want to see her bullied any more than I see wowser or atlantm bullied.

Perhaps we all need to be a little less judgmental. We need to keep in mind that this discussion group consists of people who have loved ones on the spectrum and those that are on the spectrum themselves (and I believe that includes unduki and SigS belonging to the latter). So knowing what we do about Asperger's Syndrome, we need to recognize that our beloved Aspies can come across as harsh in their tone without always realizing it...we all know Aspergers people are often very direct in their questions and don't always possess the delicacy we would like to see on a support forum, however they certainly belong here and can help the rest of us gain more insight into this condition that we obviously long to fully understand. We shouldn't be so quick to assume a question is an attack, even if we don't agree that it should have been asked. I agree with Restlessnative that unduki may have sounded a bit harsh, however, trying to press her into an apology for something innocently intended is unreasonable. I know from experiences with my own son, that he will NEVER apologize for something that might have come across wrong. He is always brutally honest, as most Aspies are, and I think he'd feel it's insincere to apologize for something he honestly doesn't feel sorry for.
