Asperger Syndrome Support Group
Asperger syndrome - also referred to as Asperger's syndrome, Asperger's, Aspergers or just AS - is one of five neurobiological pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and is characterized by deficiencies in social and communication skills, normal to above normal intelligence, and standard language development.
The people who are telling you they think you could be aspie - do they lie to you? I mean, can you believe them? Otherwise, why would they say this?
You state that you don't think you're special but then you list all the ways you're different. Just saying.
If you have access to a psychiatrist, you can get a formal diagnosis and then you'll know. Or, you can read a bunch of information on the internet and work it out for yourself. (There is a lot of help available through search engines.)
Why can't you spell? Like, is it an eye focus issue?
.i am middle age
the people saying i maybe aspie are quite impartial
and dont know each other.. the same thing said about me
by 2 people was quite a shock to hear from 2 places
that are unrelated.
i listed ways i act because i do act in ways that are not quite everyday...im not special at all ..im just a person but
the way people react to me does make me feel like
im not quite the same..ive felt that from about 7 years old .
.i shut down from people a lot .
.ive ran into mental health workers in the past and not done very well out of it ..i dont deal well with that situation...i go silent
ive had abusive issues as well mixed in with my past
so im not to open
as for lists on the web ..i do have a lot of the issues that go with AS but not all.
i have learning issues
and have a few OCD things but im doing well
at removing them.
@ the OP: Yeah, what johnnycake said.
i felt very scared to post here
very on edge about the idea of this.
emotional overload.. is the perfect way to describe what
happened with a girl i really liked i just went into a melt down?
i had to just cut and run to save myself
but the whole thing just freaked me out in the end and i cant even explian it ..
i ended up feeling a crazy idiot and she was totally lost
and thought i must be mentaly ill
and all i can say is it was like emotional overload.
can anyone get what i meen ? or put into words in a clear way
anything they have had like this
Don't be afraid to post here. There are many kind people on this forum who can help you understand.
If it helps, the same thing happens with my son every time he's with a girl. That's why he doesn't date but I'm sure he will find someone, someday who will undertand him. Did you see the movie "A Beautiful Mind?" Even though it portrays the life of a schizophrenic, I think the message applies to you and my son as well. If John Nash was able to find somebody, so can you! :-)
My point is this: It's hard to accept as an adult and once discovered then learning the issues and the coping skills is important. It's there and not going away I guess.
So that's my recommendation.
A.
She wasn't picking on his spelling.
they get quite upseting
the whole point of me posting anything here in the first place
is because im not coping well at all
and i do have issues with things so i just wanted to ask
am i alone with this.
i know i may get shot down for even asking these things
.it is all very upseting.i dont mind the comments on spelling
it was just a question ...
.i try hard to make my text as good as i can for people who dont know me...if they know me i relax a bit and let it go as it is.
ive had reall insults about it in the past and i have been made to look an idiot more times than i can cope with ..ive even been ridiculed for not being able to spell my own name at times.
but this isnt the dyslexia group.
im just trying to get some helpful words on the situations i cope with and this is the nearest i can place my reactions to a name
for it.
i really do feel the hole thing has gone really wrong
and i best just get out of here
either way i will have to cope with all this by myself in the end anyway.
thanks for some of the help
while i was here x
