Many years before my psych pros introduced me to the term, "Dissociation," my dissociative habits had escalated beyond the levels which had helped me survive gang rape and child prostitution, etc. "Numbed and zoned out" was far more normal for me than socializing.
Teachers, bosses, etc., always told me to, "Quit daydreaming." I'm still not quite sure what daydreaming feels like, but dissociation is so solid within my psych portfolio that I'm afraid to look too close.

Gentle support while you sort what ^it^ is for you.
I feel the same way. I have to take meds for multiple things and that's one of the more prominent feelings I have. It's like when you're looking out at beautiful scenery, you feel like you're not really there. You cant soak up the realness of everything.
I can hear my coworkers and friends talking but i'm not listening.. Just pick up a few things and say something to keep the conversation going when really it's like they're talking to themselves.
The way I found that helped me a little, is to just sit with yourself. Zone out for a couple seconds and just figuratively slap yourself out of it. Drink some cold water and take a couple deep breaths. Feel like im trying to fill my brain with air and get rid of the fogginess.
I think we've all had days where we can literally just lay down and stare into space not thinking about anything. Sometimes we just have to let ourselves do it.
Hope you're doing okay.
