Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
This is just a reminder that you CAN make changes within yourself. Outside of seeing/talking with a therapist, there are several good books out there that can help you not just manage your anxiety, but control it towards elimination. I have mild/moderate anxiety with OCD and ruminating thoughts; I can tell you that how you ENGAGE with your anxiety makes a huge difference in the battle. I've learned to do two things: first, I treat my anxiety like a friend - even giving it a nickname; that has helped me not to fear an attack but welcome it to diffuse the situation; as for my thoughts - I treat them like each thought is an idea for a fiction novel - this reminds me that they are simply ideas for a character/someone else and not thoughts that can control me. The more I do these things, the less anxiety I seem to actually "feel". I hope this is helpful to someone out there who needs it. I'm not an expert and have only been diagosed since June 2019 (although my symptoms started in December 2017), but these are things that have helped me.

My therapist really knocked some sense into me last Friday about my spending. She said that there are needs and there are wants. She said that there is always going to be cheap stuff to buy, but do I need it? The answer is mostly "no". So today, I am taking back some things that I bought online at Kohl's, namely a 9 x 12 rug and a quilt for my bed. I also bought sheets that I don't need...
Best wishes and thank you for sharing.
