Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello all. I'm now 6 and a half weeks into treatment (30 mg Rameron and low doses of Klonopin spread throughout the day.) I journal every day, practice breathing exercises, meditation, mindfulness, and speak to my therapist every week. Although I've made subtle improvement from where I was at a month and a half ago (depending on the day) will I ever feel like my normal self again? It seems like every day is a struggle, and I don't seem to have triggers and live a relatively stress free life. I have a great support system too, but I just can't seem to shake it. I can't imagine living the rest of my life like this, especially considering I've never struggled with anxiety prior to hitting rock bottom with anxiety symptoms last June. I just don't get it. I could really use some encouragement, and maybe some success stories. Thank you in advance.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Have you ever just sat or laid or wandered without trying to think about anything for a few minutes?
Anxiety is natural. So, learning natural ways to help reset the switch may be key in giving you relief, even if just for a few moments while you are experiencing 'distress'.
That better balance means that even though you are going to be more actively aware of anxiety, you'll be able to recognize it's working for you and make your stop, pause, option be effective.
Well, October 1st is less than a week away, so that should be okay to wait till then. Make sure and tell them all of what you are feeling regarding the medications. When do you feel this way or that way, what time of day in regards to when you take the medicine, etc.
If I had to guess... I will guess that you will get back to how you were before June. I am still trying to think about your situation.... *something* must have happened, whether it was conscious or not. I am not sure if the two significant deaths are somehow making you feel vulnerable, or questioning your own mortality, or feeling helpless and out of control in life (JUST guesses to ponder).
For now, live your life, try not to worry about when you will get back to normal. Don't feed into the anxiety. Ignoring it, and living "in spite of", is a good way to push through it (well, not the only way, but it works for me, and I have had this over 20 years, but mine started from an accident)
