Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Broadening your support network is an excellent first step toward sorting through the ewey, gooey mess of anxiety. As wonderful as it is to have a mother you can at least attempt to talk about ^it^ with (color me envious), mothers make lousy therapists, even when they are fully qualified to therapute patients. It takes a village to live a healthy life. A broader base of experience, ideas and support can make a huge diff.
Welcome aboard. Hope you feel safe to make DS a node in your network.
It's good that you came here. And talking to a therapist or pastoral
councillor sounds like a good idea. You may also need medication
for a while.
i would suggest writing your feelings down. maybe you can make it into a little assignment - start with just random notes of how you feel, not even complete sentences. then, go back and read over everything and try to put these thoughts into sentences and be very descriptive. you can go back and "edit" things that don't sound right when your mind is a bit more clear. show it to your mom when you feel comfortable with what you've written.
this kind of thing has also been helpful for me to organize my thoughts when i'm in the middle of an anxiety attack because i can say "okay, my heart is racing, but this is common with anxiety and i'm not going to die or have a heart attack". i can look back and actually see what i've experienced before and know that i got through it that time, so i will get through it this time and any time to come.
it's not easy for anyone to deal with. your mom wants the absolute best for you and i'm sure she is frustrated that she can't help as much as she would like. it's all about teamwork and helping each other understand where you're coming from rather than getting discouraged or upset.
in the meantime, we are all here to support you and listen. we understand <3
My therapist helped me talk to her and told her that right now, no there isnt much she can do. The only thing i need from her is her support and patience. Maybe try telling that to your mom. Moms want to heal their children overnight but get frustrated with the situation—not you—when they cant.
And as for trying to explain to her how you feel, try writing down your symptoms(maybe even while theyre happening). Let her read it or read it to her. Even if its not all inclusive, it will at least give her an idea.
