I'm not new here but I haven't had really any anxiety issues for quite awhile but I'm having horrible intense anxiety for the past day and a half. I know what brought this on, discovered couple of weeks ago that my mother had been hiding that she had a huge tumor on her...anyway she had to have emergency surgery and then I became legal guardian to my grandmother and had to place her in a nursing home....just slammed with alot of family emergencies and having to help. Seemed to be handling everything really well then all of a sudden I started getting these weird twitching sensations in my legs and arms and now I"m in full-blown panic mode. Feel like I have all these "sensations" under my skin. Never had this symptom before. I had stopped taking my zoloft a few months back but I started back on it so I'm hoping it kicks in soon. Using xanax to sleep. Going to see dr in a few days hoping to get in sooner if she has some cancellations. So has anyone else had the weird twitching or crawly sensations and did you get it to go away? I need some positive feedback . I do feel this is anxiety related since it came on while I'm in the middle of all this family drama but I'm also worried I'm getting some disease....I hate feeling this way so much.

The weird twitchy sensations are the chemical overload going to help your body keep in action instead of freezing in place.
The best thing that works for me is keep moving, whether it is just tapping the toes, wiggling the fingers, and moving around in any direction.
I take zoloft and it works quickly to reduce the acute anxiety level for me.
Take time to appreciate everything you have accomplished! That is wonderful that you have done all this! The anxiety that you are feeling now is temporary, and will disappear when you keep moving, try a simple massage of your head to see if you're tense all over.
Hang in there, you are definitely not alone!
The panic feeling will go away as you continue to move around.
Sometimes drinking cold water can help. Deep breaths can also help. It will take a while for the Zoloft to fully start working.
Best of Luck to you. We are all here to help get you through it.
