Unpleasant thoughts and they just loop and loop over and over again I’ve been writing about it and I know they they are there now but they always show up at this time I think because I’m occupiedI’ve noticed now after one week writing that my worry starts usually right before I awake and every time I awake during sleep I start feeling surreal If I wake up to go get water or use the bathroom I usually don’t worry kind of like I know I got to go get water or go to the bathroom stops the thoughts I think because I’m occupied Knowing I got to do something But if I just wake up right before I wake up these real strong thoughts I don’t know from where they come they just come I keep thinking of me and I’ve noticed they’re always the same ones what if my mom passed what if I can’t pay my rent what if my car breaks down and I can’t get to work what if in 10 years from now I’m homeless what if what if what if very Unpleasant thoughts and they just loop and loop over and over again I’ve been writing about it and I know they were there but they always show up at this time For no reason I don’t call upon them they just come And then it happens I notice I’m stuck I can’t get out of the fight then I get out of it it’s so weird man I wish all this would stop it feels like tomorrow’s a dream

Jay's podcasts are really good. I watch them on YouTube for free. Today, I watched his video about motivation. In fact, I've been watching a few videos on this subject. After going through a class or two to manage this it was presented as “catastraphizing” everything looks bleak, or a tiger is in the room and you are in grave danger. These thoughts are just that thoughts and can be managed.
If your interested in learning more about this I would recommend a class on CBT, cognitive behavioral therapy. It presents tools to combat some of these issues

Neg: I will be cold, alone, sickly and unloved.
Pos: The absence of material belongings will free me to find places I never would have found carrying a suburban paradise on my back.
This exercise doesn't stop the intrusive thoughts, all by its lonesome, but it puts a new spin into the loops.

For what it's worth
I view my own anxiety as the alarm which alerts the survival mechanisms to prepare for action. Like most alarm systems, it monitors more than it evaluates. A literal smoke alarm will go off for burnt toast as readily as it goes off for a house fire. A burglar alarm will warn you of a stray cat as enthusiastically as armed home invaders.
Now to find that damned reset button between my ears. . .
