Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

My thoughts are racing like contestants on the Indy 500 track this morning. The contestants never stray far from one another in their competitive roaring. The cheers from the stands are deafening at volumes to shake the ground beneath the tires of the contestants on the track. The vendors in the stands are selling out faster than money can change hands.
Ouch. Me duele a la cabeza. My head hurts.
I bet some of you have already guessed the trigger. The head honcho of my U.S. State has rescinded the COVID mandates. The lower level of government (most especially the fashion leaders?) are fighting like mad dogs over how to proceed at their local levels.
Again I leave mood icon on the rapid cycling median.
Little League season was on the verge of starting up for my eldest foster son (7). Again we wait for the political dust to settle.

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

First, I hope everyone is doing well, and continuing to fight that good fight! Keep up the great work on yourselves; I'm rooting for all of you!So, I started doing therapy at the beginning of the year, when I was in my most depressed state, but with my therapist, I made big changes and steps in the right direction. But, over a month ago, she couldn't take my insurance anymore, and I had to stop...
I know how you feel with the little league situation. We have watched sports for our kids be poised to start and then cancelled too many times now. Watching my kids' lives get screwed with has, honestly, been one of the hardest things about the pandemic for me to deal with. But, artificial proclamations not withstanding, I do think we are approaching the end of the pandemic... I have hope.
Sending peace and maybe a caution flag to slow down your racing thoughts.

"And building us a highway

"This old place will disappear." ~Fred Koller (Boom Town)
But that mess was already well developed before Corona crowned. My foster children are 5th generation Texan and I doubt their suffering is any worse than the Corona kids around the world in their quiet desperation. Corona rules make far better sense in a nursing home than an elementary school.
I'm apprehensive about even tempting Little League in the current political storms. Corona crowned swim lessons were a disaster. These children can't take too many more losses or setbacks. They have already suffered more losses than any young child should have to endure.
Truthfully I may not be be the best candidate to provide the best support as I am from the UK but I will try nonetheless and I hope any information I provide promotes self reflection and insight in what will help with your experiences :)
With everything happening, including the way the media portrays situations, it can add to the anxiety as well (This I experienced when with my grandparents as they watch the news 24/7) by adding extra thoughts and concepts for our brains to think about without having a direct way of changing the outcome.
Some advice I have been given, which can be useful once I have had time to reflect within myself, is to take things as mere fact and separate one's self from the distress of the result of political actions.
Even verbally saying 'it is what it is' has helped me disassociate with the matter at hand and take it as face value which I need in order to radically accept.
Radical Acceptance is something that is worth looking into (and something I need to practice more often than I do) or reviewing if you have used it before.
On top of that I have limited the volume of news I consume to the bare necessities that effect me personally or to a monthly endeavour.
I wish you the strength to reflect internally on what you need right in this very moment and the courage to take action, whether it be a form of self-care or an accessible task, to ease the anxiety of being on the rapidly cycling median <3
Still. . . The foster kids need some clues on what is happening in their world. News of the Governor's decree was delivered to my inbox by way of the school district saying, "We disagree. The new normal will stay normal for the foreseeable future." At this stage I believe my 3 orphans are grieving the loss of their world far more than they are grieving the parents who died months before Corona took the world away from them. The 2 year old has spent half of her life in pandemic isolation. The oldest, 7, really wants to play baseball.
Sorry son. It is what it is, whether we understand it, or not. Still wishing we felt save enough to **stay** safe.
