Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hey guys,
You can call me Cam and I’m a 17 year old girl still in high school. I’ve been feeling very afraid about this for a while now, lately it’s been keeping me up at night.
What it is, is that I just can’t bare the thought of growing up. Of dying, of being without my parents and without the comforts of my home and family. It scares me so bad. I already have bad anxiety so this makes it so much worse. If anyone could give any advice I would really appreciate it.

It's bedtime but I heated up some coffee to take my pills with and made a fresh pot so I can have some as soon as I wake up tomorrow a.m. I've been on a roll for 2 days with cleaning and getting other stuff done. I bought a new cell phone about a week ago and I've been having some issues. I stopped at Verizon and a nice young man jumped in to help. As a result, I was able to get an iced...

The fact that these feelings are quite natural doesn't make them any easier to deal with. My advice is to keep sharing here while you are looking for other sources of support to supplement the sharing here. The massive changes and trials of adult life are easier when shared as they come up. It takes a village to live a healthy life. With multiple sources of support, it is easier to remain assured that help will always be available when you need it.
Welcome aboard. Gentle support while you challenge the transition. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Interfering too much with your life. Or talk to slightly older relatives,
friend, sisters of friends about growing up.
All my family is gone.....I'm the end of the line. I've had to make friends my family which actually works great as this time I get to pick :P
I'm learning to have a healthy and good relationship with myself and I am selective about who I let in my life.
I have started looking at life as an adventure and have embraced change as it is inevitable.
You are quite young and by the time you graduate high school, you will have a little more life under your belt and peers and others to help you move onto the next stage of your life.
My piano teacher use to have a sign on her piano, "Life is like a piano, it depends on how you play it".
I have always loved that saying as I reflect on it often throughout my life.
We are in control of our lives. We can let fear rule our lives and make us miserable or we can take control (scary.....at first) and live life to it's fullest. Making life a buffet.....trying a little of everything. We need the polarity becuz if we didn't have things we didn't like, we wouldn't know what we like. We have to have hate in order to know what love is.......and the list goes on.
If you don't like something, you have the choice to make it better or do nothing and things will remain the same.
I found moving out of fear or not letting it rule my life has been one of my greatest accomplishments in life. It has led me to some of the greatest things and ppl in my life.....and it keeps getting better.
I'm not saying I don't get afraid any more.....I do......but I work on pushing through the fear and what I want is ALWAYS on the other side of it :)
Hang in there and relax. Do so deep breathing and find some up beat peeps to hang around and enjoy the rest of the summer.
Put yourself back "in the moment" to help get you moving.
Set up a night time routine to relax, calm, and be gentle. Keep a glass of water to stay hydrated. Focus on the good to help you be comfortable at night.
During the day, exercise your mind and body, talk with people, and be active.
Best wishes and welcome to the group.
Lately, every night I have cried and felt extreme grief for my mom especially and she is already 55. She is in amazing health being a nutritionist and health specialist, but I cannot stand the thought of her ever dying.
For some reason every night now it feels like she is already dead, I'm afraid I'm already going through the pain of loss every night before it even happens. I end up staying up all night distracting myself, and I just don't know how to shake my anxiety and fear. Grief as well I should say.

It kind of weird that I saw your post...for a while now I’ve been having the same feeling. I’m 24 and often think about how much I don’t want to be an adult. We definitely can change it and one thing that has helped me is to only take one day at a time. I’ve learned that if you think about the future or too many things at once it’s very overwhelming. So I’ve been trying to only think as far as today for now. Hopefully one day these fears won’t be so big and I can think of the future. Hope this helps. I’m here if you ever want to talk❤️
