Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello to you all... I hope you enjoyed your Holiday. I'm writing tonight because I'm having a rough time, and I needed to vent a little. To those taking the time to read this and/or respond, thank you. There aren't enough words to describe how much I appreciate you.
I had posted a few weeks ago about my being diagnosed with OCD, Anxiety and Panic Disorder when I was younger (I am 34 now). I take medications, see a therapist and am currently looking for a new Psychiatrist (my amazing Psychiatrist sadly retired a few weeks ago.) Towards the end of November/beginning of December, I began noticing little jumps in my chest. Come to find out, I was experiencing heart palpitations. Side note- Medical things seem to be a huge trigger for me, so as you can imagine, I went off the deep end while these were going on. I went to see my Physician, and he did an EKG, listened to my heart, and decided that it was from my anxiety. He also upped my anxiety meds. Since then, there are days where I am doing ok, but tonight is not one of them. I started feeling them again, and my panic set in. I will be sitting on the couch, and feel my heart beating, one, two, three.....four, five, six... And that little pause makes me freak out. I am trying to calm myself down, but it's so hard. I've talked to other people who have experienced heart palpitations and they make it seem like it's not a big deal... But for me, it terrifies me. It's hard for me to accept that this is just my anxiety. I plan on going to see a Cardiologist in January... I have to make an appointment with one, and psych myself up for it. Just going to that appointment is going to be very difficult for me. I am petrified of Doctors, and I know it's going to be rough. I find myself crying a lot more lately, I feel a little depressed, all since this has been going on. I am so overwhelmed with my anxiety, and feel like something is going to happen to me. I almost need constant reassurance from loved ones that "everything is going to be ok", and that "I am going to be fine". I feel like I'm trying to feel better, but nothing is working. I'm taking my medications, deep breathing, I am even using essential oils (lavender, frankincense, etc.) to help. I guess I'm writing this because I'm looking for people who get where I'm coming from. Anyone out there? One more note again- medical things can scare me, so if you can just use caution when responding I would appreciate it. Thanks so much.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

"don't be a hate hole" has been one of my recent mantras which seems to be escaping my mouth more and more often. it emerges when i am faced with the endless list of chores i would rather not deal with. insurance. head lice. bureaucracy. in-laws. the list goes on and on and on and on, ad infinitum.reality checks requested. am i making sense?"ever'thin they is but loving leaves a rust on your...

Update: Feeling a little better since writing my original post, but still taking each day, one at a time. One of the hardest hurdles I have to overcome is to make an appointment with the Cardiologist to *hopefully* confirm that these palpitations are only due to my anxiety and nothing severe. Will keep you all posted. xoxo
