Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Well yesterday i did something that is kinda small but also good.
So I have a very old and gross mattress. Like it is tinted a dull yellow color from how old it is. Has pokey metal bits coming out of it. I had to bend metal wires back into the mattress and sew patches over the holes they made.
So my mom has offered to buy me a new mattress or to give me a mattress topper before but I've always been to anxious to change it because this is my room, my safe place that I don't want to change. But yesterday she offered again to let me use the topper we have and I said yes.
So now my bed is not poking me and also my back feels much better. I honestly am not a big fan of it though. It's too soft and when my feet touch it I feel very gross (I am very specific about my feet touching things idk why) also it has a weird smell to it so now all my blankets stink even after washing them.
So yeah it kinda sucks but this post is mostly about me overcoming a bit of anxiety and changing things to better my life. Next step is get a new mattress and possibly bed frame. Currently my bed is on an old futon frame that is falling apart and also has metal things poking out if it. No idea when I will get a new bed though bc we are broke but for now I will be okay with this.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
When you get a new mattress...you can leave it in your room unused against a wall for a few weeks...until you get use to the idea of it...and then decided to give it a try. Slowly work yourself into the idea of it being available to you...but also still having the safety net of your old mattress.
Sending you light and love! Hope you have an awesome rest of your week! Thanks for the inspiration!
And the idea of leaving it against a wall until ready to use it is great! Sadly my room is too small for that but I love that you said that because that is something I'd probably want to do. usually when I come up with ideas like that people think it's dumb but I feel like tiny baby steps are helpful even if they seem incredibly small.
Good for you! Any step forward is stepping in!
I'll second the notion of using baking soda to neutralize the odors. I use baking soda for so many things that I buy in bulk.
I put a mattress topper on top of my mattress, second one I've tried. I really love them, feels nice, like sleeping on a cloud. Not sure if yours is machine washable?
I think yours just needs some airing out. "They" say get a new mattress every 8 years.
You did great!!! Enjoy! Sweet dreams :)
