Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. Hello everyone. So I am just over a week on starting medications for my anxiety and depression. I am now on Zoloft and Wellburtin. It seems like since starting meds my anxiety is ten times worse. I had asked before and people said it was normal since I was facing my disorders for the first time. But it's not going away or getting any easier. I have heart palpitations very frequently now and that gut sick feeling all the time. My DR added propranolol to my med list and I am suppose to start taking that for the heart palpitations, has anyone had experience with this med? New meds scare the crap out of me especially since I read it's a beta blocker not really a anxiety med.
I also have extreme dry mouth, difficultly eating and have been waking up four or five times a night.
I let my DR know and I was told side effects are normal just starting and they go away but I didn't get an answer on how long it takes or anything.... any advice?? I am starting to rethink meds cause I just feel like crap all the time!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
You are hydration sensitive.
The #1 thing with zoloft is that if you stay hydrated, the symptoms you mentioned will decrease significantly or even disappear.
And, another effect of medication is that when the worst symptom is cleared, the next one pops up. It's why it takes a while to get the right amount set up for each individual.
Also keeping written track can help you sort through the patterns of thought and see what helps when.
Part of healing the balance is going through the process with medication to find the best balance.
You are doing the right thing by keeping in contact with your doctor, and following what he says to do. You are on the right path to getting yourself better.
Hang in there with the medications. They take about a month to really do their good. You can do this. Just a few short weeks away. Good job.
