Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
my newest anxiety problem has been homesickness and separation anxiety. My husband and I have lived in this city for 4 years now and we love it but we are the only ones out of both of our families to move away. We only live 4 hours from our hometowns but I've been extremely homesick lately to the point of panic attacks. My mom and sis came to visit and we had a blast but as soon as they were packing up to leave I had a meltdown. My best friend (who lives in my husbands hometown) is going on a trip to Europe soon and I had to ask her not to tell me details about it because I know I will be freaking out knowing she's flying overseas. I feel like I have no control over it and if I know someone is far away I feel like I'm going to die unless they come back right that second.
My husband was invited on a business getaway to vegas in March and I am terrified of him going. I don't want to hold him back but I can't be that far away from him for that long.
Does anyone else experience this type of anxiety and if so how do you cope? I feel like I am at the end of my rope.
Also - I am in the middle of switching antidepressants and have my second therapy session tomorrow with a new counselor. So I am taking those steps.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.

That homesickness, normal. That fear, normal. Move on. Just because you have it, does not give it control, you still have control of your words, your feelings, your choices.
Best wishes. Let the fear go. Smile, wave, and be positive.
