Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi everyone,
This weekend has been an extremely up and down week for me. Some days I wake up feeling great and other days I wake up and my anxiety and panic gets the best of me. Yesterday I had such a great day no panic, no anxiety, I enjoyed my day and felt great, I didn't even have to take my Xanax to sleep, now this morning I feel the great weight of my anxiety and I feel terrible. I feel like the nervousness in me is taking me over and no matter what I do it doesn't calm down. I find myself thinking and wondering if any sensation in my body is a panic attack which leads to the anxiety and the horrible cycle continues. It seems like as the day goes on I calm down and get better and everyday I keep making a little progress but every time I wake up like this I feel like I'm taking 30 steps back. Thanks for listening because I am tired of worrying my great family and boyfriend about this because I feel like I have put enough on them already these last two weeks and they don't need anymore worry.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Continued support while you find what works for you, Pickle Person. Wish I had quick and easy answers for both of us.
For what its worth
I figure the 1-step-forward-2-steps-back syndrome is about rescuing proverbial babies who have been tossed out with the bathwater. My anxiety is harsh enough to create psychic blinders which prevent me from seeing the precious pieces that have gotten buried and/or cast aside in the mind slides of anxiety. These days I'm experimenting with reframing the two steps back as a rescue mission. Those babies are worth saving.
If anything the rollercoaster thing shows this isn't actually true! We have good days and less good days but then after a while another good day comes along. It's not a pattern (which is something I see in everything where there isn't one...)
I just tell myself each bad day is a pause in the hill-climb of recovery, not a slip down. Recovery has a pattern because you build it.
Hope you feel better tomorrow x
