So I have been on a waiting list for a therapist since December. It's for people who have no health insurance. I finally got an appointment and I went today.
We talked almost 2 hours. Because there was an intern in there I didn't go into details about some things I wanted to say just cause I didn't feel comfortable yet. But she told me that I was very anxious, and that I exhibited many symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. Also, that the entire time I was in there she witnessed me pull my hair unconsciously about 7 times. I told her about my hair pulling and she said it was trichotillomania, and that I also was constantly fidgeting and had anxiety (which I knew.)
And she said she was going to maybe prescribe me some medication to help my anxiety.
She gave me some pamphlets, a journal to write in, and some steps to take before bed to try and help my insomnia (which she says contributes largely to my anxiety)
