Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hi everyone! This is my first post on here and I have struggled with anxiety since I've been 10-11 years old and now I'm 18. I'm currently working with a therapist on my mental health struggles but this is exactly why I'm on here! I'm a freshman in college and currently am doing a research project for my cultural anthropology class. I wanted to study online anxiety support groups because it is something I've always considered using. My idea is to figure out why/how this is an alternative to regular therapy or in-person therapy and just kind of the basics of how this online group works! So, if anyone would be willing to help, I would be so happy! I just need a basis of why you're using this outlet instead of regular therapy or if you're using this outlet in combination with regular therapy and a basis of how this website works! Thank you to anyone who decides to participate, it is greatly appreciated!

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Personally, I use on-line support as a supplement, not an alternative. Kinda like vitamin supplements for my physical needs. It is an add-on to my regular diet of professional therapy and live support groups. I still need the regular diet more than I need my supplements.
As a supplement, on-line support offers portability to provide a bit more continuity in my wandering ways. I travel allot It's hard to make a meeting in Texas when I am in Bolivia. That's one hell of a commute. Being able to keep in touch with my most trusted therapy supporters while I am travelling is a major benefit.
Alas, I recently inherited 3 young orphans who have cramped my wandering ways to the max, so the benefit has recently shifted to being able to pause for therapy breaks during insanely busy days. Our still-new household is in an area new to all of us, so I am leaning on my on-line community harder than I like. My tired old bones sure could use a flesh and blood shoulder to lean and cry on.
