Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I have been reading the book and am trying to figure out exactly how to use the acceptance method. Is it basically noticing how I am physically and emotionally feeling and then talk to that feeling? For me anxiety has a very physical presence...nausea in the mornings and sometimes throughout the day, lack of appetite, poor sleep, and feeling tired but then not being able to nap well (which stinks because I have always enjoyed a nice afternoon nap). It can be difficult to want to do anything when my body feels crappy. In my head I know it is only anxiety because this has been the pattern when I have had anxiety in the past. It is frustrating that it is lasting this long because it popped up its ugly head when my husband and I both got sick with COVID in August. I thought once we were better that I would feel back to myself but the anxiety is dragging on. I am also having a bunch of hot flashes (worse than when I went through menopause). I have heard there is a correlation between having COVID and hot flashes. I blame all of this on darn COVID.
I have found some great self-hypnosis things on YouTube that I am using to help me sleep at night. I have used them for a week now and am actually starting to have better sleep. That sure makes a huge difference in the morning!
Anyway, feedback on how to use this book would be appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't written in my diary on my computer since May because I thought that my computer was dying. I got away from writing but my computer is hanging in there. I think that I will start writing in it again. It's so therapeutic.

Years ago, I won a mirrored armoire from my job. It's in my bedroom but I rarely stand in front of it. Yesterday, I had to have a dexascan done so I had to change into a gown. There was a full length mirror in the changing room. I'm aware that I gained 5 to 7 pounds over the last year from cheating on Keto but I didn't know what it looked like. It was a reality check.
Here's to your success in getting it back to where it works for you!
Hope healing happens here.
For what it's worth
Anxiety gives me hot flashes and cold sweats, all by its lonesome.
Without having any idea what it is, I can say that I, too, have come round over the past year or so to the idea that acceptance is the only way through. I've come across a handful of techniques and adopted a few to help with that.
