Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
My roommate sucks. He's 12+ years older than me and does cocaine and drinks daily. He brings home these weird people from bars and I never really see the same person twice. My room is basically only accessible by going through the bathroom (weird, I know) so I'm already in an awkward position. A few weeks ago a random man walked into my room just to see what was in here. I told my roommate about it and he said he would curb his behavior but he hasn't really.
This random crackhead type woman who very clearly is unemployed has spent the past three days here. I wouldn't REALLY mind if it wasn't for her constantly locking my door because she thinks I'm going to walk in on her. My roommate has three children who don't even do this because I generally knock if I think I hear a noise - which I can hear most if not all noises (unfortunately) from the bathroom and otherwise I have never really walked in on anyone in the bathroom coming from my room.
The first day I let it go. I figured she had anxiety about a random person's house and thought it'd be better to do that. On the second day she continued to lock the door everytime she used the bathroom. Once she asked to close my door to use the bathroom - I was in full outdoor gear about to leave and I said sure because I figured she would use the bathroom and leave. Instead she takes a shower (?) and I'm forced to go through a door which is blocked by a giant armoire and goes directly into my roommates room.
Over night she (and I guess others but this is the first time I've ever seen it happen) goes through two rolls of toilet paper I put into the bathroom that evening before I went to bed. When I wake up the toilet is partially clogged and there is no toilet paper left. I unclog the toilet and go about my day. The woman decides to use the bathroom before she leaves, locks my door and doesn't bother to unlock it - leaving me trapped until I broke open the door. I told my roommate that she had done these things and he said he would "let her know".
Tonight she came back again and I was sitting here in dead silence minding my own business when she violently grabs the door handle, shaking it and locking it. I immediately go into a literal panic attack and my heart is racing and I'm kind of scared because I dont really know who's behind the door. A few minutes later she once again violently grabs the door handle and unlocks it.
I'm so pissed I taped the entire door handle so she can't touch the lock anymore. Thanks for ruining my night, random cokehead lady.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Time to look for somewhere else to stay
And yes, you need either to move or get a new roommate.
Best wishes.
