Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

my eldest foster daughter (now 6) suffers severe attachment disorder. her condition has improved mightily over the 2 1/2 years she has been with us, but she still often shuts down dramatically (an improvement over the hysterical reactions she suffered when she came here) when asked to do simple things, like reaching for a light switch in a dark room or approaching a social situation which is new to her.
as i gently encourage her to "grow those brave muscles," i often wonder if this is how god feels when i pray for her to have less confidence in me this week.
just wondering. . .
just like the healthy ones do, our journeys may require a different kind of work and focus with our feelings and emotions. But each of us has to manage (challenged or unchallenged in the way that we are).
Just know that we're all in this here. You've come to a good place. Keep talking it out day by day - step by step...you'll find that your burdens may not get lighter but your way for dealing with them gets wiser for sure! Keep on keeping on!!
at what you've done here! You've got an issue and your reaching out to find solutions!! That's a HUGE first step!! Well done you!!!
Keep on keeping on!
i don't think its what God gives you ...we have free will and we cause a lot of our own issues. but there is always help if we ask for it. but many people won't seek help...or they wont work for it. you can't blame God for that.
I too believe in free will. Things happen to people. If you are lucky to live long enough, it’s guaranteed you will experience some hardship. It has nothing to do with god’s will. We always have choices how we handle things or move through hardship. May not be the choices we want but choices none the less.
