day two of the new school year and i am risking the sin of pride over how neatly the five of us have fallen back into last school year's routine. everyone seems to be grateful to be back in the saddle again.
the cautionary note in, "risking the sin of pride" is the blinding arrogance which so often accompanies pride. i all too easily fall into an attitude of, "i got this. all i have to do now is sit on the back of my convertible and wave to the adoring crowds." i all too often forget to watch for potholes in the road when i am too full of myself.
is pride a deadly sin? i hold that it is a question of balance. a sense of pride helps me do better work and be more grateful for the gifts of life. too much pride and you become a delusional fool.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

certain measures of pride are essential for healthy self-esteem. the water analogy springs to mind. a glass of is healthy hydration. drinking lake michigan will drown you.
But as Winston Churchill said "We can hold success in our mouths like a good cigar...roll it around and taste it.....but never swallow." :)
I try - and I think you do too - to remain circumspect during all events.
There's nothing wrong with pride and you are a good foster mom. So good
