Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Ok, so my partner and I live with her parents because house we did have was taken over by black mold. So, we've been here three years, going on four, can't find a home we can afford with five kids. Try as we might, we just can't find a place. So, her dad drinks like a fish. Buying case after case of beer a week. He drinks when he first gets up, to when he goes bed. Ok, fine he's an alcoholic. He won't admit it though. So, the family (my partner, me, and her mom), all deal with this quietly. Now, it wouldn't be so bad if it was just the drinking. But he has a nasty attitude too. He seems to think that because you can't see where I hurt, or where I'm broken, that I"m perfectly healthy. He doesn't care that I'm in pain on a constant basis, or that I can't lift over a certain amount of weight. Like for the winter I have to unload a ton of coal from a pickup truck. When I say a ton of coal, I'm talking an actually ton. My back is so messed up. But it's all good. To stay here, we have to do what they say when they say. If we don't, we get thrown out on the street. There is no backup plan. No friends we can call, no other family members. It's just us. So, we take the verbal abuse from her father, and we take the workload from her mom. By the way, no one is caring about our wellbeing at all. We fend for ourselves in that department. My partner and I take care of our kids, keep them safe. We dread waking up in the morning because of the tasks they will have us do that day. We are so ready for our new home, it's not even funny. Just to be able to do things and not hear a complaint about them. I'm so done trying to please people. It's like we don't get any respect yet we are suppose to give it freely. Like because of their name, they are entitled or something. Yet, I'm good enough to ask for help. Yet, I can't say anthing or they throw us out. It doesn't matter what good thing I did that day, they will throw us out, if we do anything they don't like.
Like we took in a kitten a friend of ours found wandering near a busy road. We checked the neighborhood, but no one owned this cat. So, we take it home, because it was too little to be runnin the roads. Well, my partners mom decided to hold our home over our head if we didn't get rid of the cat. She wanted us to take it to a kill shelter. Said it was better if it was killed. That way it couldn't have kittens. I know, mean as hell, right? Well, it took alot of talking and bickering, but we finally have found this kitten a home. Going home hopefully Monday, or Tuesday. But every day she says if she sees it, she's taking it to the pound. She has no consideration for other people or things. Her solution to everything is to kill it. Does't matter what it is, if she doesn't like it, she kills it. Makes ya kinda wonder what would happen if a dog would piss her off enough, huh? But this is what we live with until we get our own place.
Please someone guide me through this. I don't know what to do about it.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Ever since I stopped doing therapy because of insurance, I've been feeling that old tense and irritable sense of anxiety and stress. I hate that. I was making so many strides and changes during therapy, my therapist would acknowledge all of my progress and accomplishments, and I miss that reassurance. Today I thought about it, and I made those changes! She would always tell me that I chose to...
Best wishes as you remain calm and focused on keeping within the difficult living situation you are in.
I, too, would channel my anxiety into making a plan and finding my own place.
Gentle support while you find what's right for you.
