Is it petty of me to think of my anxiety disorders (plural intended) as symptoms I live with more than character flaws? I don't **choose** to have the racing thoughts nor the many ripples of my anxiety disorders any more than I chose my ancestors. ^It^ is what ^it^ is, however I choose to judge ^it^.
For me, this distinction helps me feel a bit more empowered to decide what to do with ^it^ and to be a bit gentler and a bit more self-tolerant for having symptoms over which I have no control. Ply anxiety management tools here, one bit at a time.

Writing it out is the first step in finding your new balance.
Try separating your sentences and think about your feelings of each sentence. Do this in a private journal to help you sort through the patterns of your thoughts.
Practice focus on a single task to distract the usual thought pattern. Stay hydrated. Do even breathing.
