have any of you been out of work for a period of time because of your anxiety? i'm going on my 2nd week out. first week was paid because i had sick days but now it's unpaid. i'm trying to get my doc to fill out disability forms for me so i can get some sort of compensation from my employer as i can't go without a paycheck. i started meds about 5 weeks ago now and have some relief but not enough. i am constantly dizzy and really scared to go to work as i have to take a bus and walk throughout busy streets downtown. i always feel like i'm going to pass out. my doc said to do whatever i need to do to get better and going to work only makes it worse for me. i've suffered before with this but this time it's different because i live across the country from my family. i'm used to having their support and i'm used to working a job where there's no pressure and i could take off if i need to. this time, i'm alone, working a high pressure job, have no support and it's really hard. i miss my family and friends and i know this would be so much easier if i had them. i think i might need to move home. i'm ready to accept the cards i've been dealt and to create a life that i know will best support me in my healing. and i need that life to include my family and friends. i've tried so hard for so long to get out of my comfort zone and become a different person. i was able to make this move across the country and thought this was the change i needed in my life to once and for all get through this and be a stronger person. but i think i only made it worse because i wasn't staying true to who i really am. i am someone who is lucky enough to have such a great support system and i ran away from them. i'm feeling very alone and scared. i wish the meds would work already.

Anxiety deals with "fight or flight", and it takes a lot of work to get it back within normal range once it goes in overwhelming mode.
Best wishes!
I told my therapist that I just needed 2 weeks just me, myself and I and to be able to be away from everybody and everything for those 2 weeks. She agreed it would be helpful but like you, I cant afford it since Im having to pay for medications and doctors and therapy, etc.
