Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
He so i've been dealing with anxiety for the larger part of 5 years. i'm on medication and have been for a while. i think it sometimes it works and other times i think it doesn't. In the last two year, i've been in 'crisis' several times either with my anxiety or my depression. I've been admitted to a psych hospital 3 times and in the crisis unit more times than i can count. Throughout this either thing, i've been seeing a mental health worker. My family, specifically my aunt has done so much for me. She has spent countless hours in the ER, trying to help me get help, she took me in after i got evicted (because of my roommate) when i was in a very bad place, i still live with her.
So last year, around this time, things got really bad and i tried to take my life, several times. Things were so bad that i had anxiety about things i normally dont. I was terrified to drive, which i have never been. So driving from work to home which was like a 3 minutes drive, gave me so much anxiety. So. the last few months, i've been doing better. I am stressed as i work full time and am a full time student (i'm sponsored through work and working full time is a condition of my sponsorship. And every time i've gone into crisis, i haven't seen it coming until its too late. So anyways, today, i was on an escalator, which i have never had any fear about, and i was terrified i was going to fall down, and my heart was racing and i had a panic attack and all i could do was hold on for dear life. So i'm wondering if i should see this as a sign my anxiety is getting worst, because of irrational or new fears emerging, or maybe was it a freak thing? any thoughts?

It happens to a large percentage of people with ADHD, which I have. Actually, I have been watching videos about ADD/ADHD lately. I remember my Mom telling me that she watched a show on ADD and she...

Hello- I am new to the group
In recent years, I have been taking such escalations as a sign that I have been neglecting my therapy maintenance. Gently getting back on my program has been an effective way to halt the escalation. Emphasis on "Gently." Belittling myself over the backslide doesn't seem to help at all. I've already survived enough abuse without adding self-abuse to the mix.
Just my strictly personal thoughts. . .
Gentle support while you sort your own thoughts and symptoms, Caite.
