Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hello everyone..I am a student and I have completed my B.Sc last year(2016) but I didn't get admission in M.Sc..so my parents said me to stay at home and prepare for M.Sc entrance exams next year(2017) and they didn't agree to send me for coaching or anything..I have to prepare myself and I am trying my best..its been almost 8 months that I have not gone out..only went out with my parents..I wasn't seeing or meeting my friends for 8 months..They all got admissions in different places..Even though I am staying at home trying to study and concentrate on my studies my parents keep taunting me like "your 1 year is wasted..all your friends moved ahead in their lives and you are left behind" such things make me feel bad n demotivated and no matter how much I try to study I feel like I won't be able to reach my goal this year also.My parents call me A BURDEN..they say they want result. The way they behave with me, I don't feel comfortable and feel at home at all.Even when everyone is in good mood we talk and laugh..when I laugh or smile my mom starts to say like "howcome you are laughing?are you not ashamed that you didn't get admission?if you keep on laughing like this everyone will laugh at you"..I still take time to forget all this and try to study but can't focus for long..few days back my friend came to see me and I went for a walk with her..when we returned my parents behaved badly with her and blamed her for my failure whereas we met after long 8 months even though we are neighbors.my dad said my friends to take me with them and keep me as a servant..Even when I tried to talk to him nicely that what he did with my friend was not good he started yelling at me and asked me to either commit suicide or leave the house. No matter how far I want to go away from my parents the problem is I can't because I have no money and nowhere to go..so the only way is get admission somewhere and stay away from my parents but I can't concentrate..I don't feel like doing anything.I am tired of listening all these and feel like ending my life..but I want to live and fulfill my dreams too thats what is keeping me alive. So I want help to make me feel better..motivate me..guide me how do I study and stay happy while being with them..

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

You are smart, you are able to make it happen, and you will have to reach out to others to find the resources to move on.
Best wishes.
Are you from India? It's been a while since I have read the term Bsc. Apprently your parents think that they can burden you with their guilt and it's so sad. Having gone through some of the stuff that you have mentioned. I find it hard to comprehend why they would that to their child. Do you have siblings? Coming from that culture it's really disheartening that your parents don't realize that your true potential is in being who you are and not pressurize you but allow you to grow and mature. I hope you don't lose courage and hope and continue to find new grounds of motivation and self esteem. Keep posting and vent whenever you feel like. Take care
You're right- the pressure and entrapment you're feeling from your parents can be harmful. Please reach out to the National Suicide Hotline for a listening ear, 1-800-273-8255! No matter what, don't give up. You deserve support and comfort. Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers!
