Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. So, my hubby finally decided he felt bad enough to seek medical treatment. He went to our primary care doctor yesterday, got some meds and an order for a couple of x-rays. I think he was going to try to get out of the x-rays today, but I put my foot down and told him he had to go. The imaging center is closed tomorrow, and I don't want to wait any longer than we have to for the x-ray reading.
Here's a really big thing that I believe now is causing a huge amount of my anxiety... He had a very treatable form of cancer about 3 years ago. He had surgery, and it was successful. However, being the non-compliant patient that he is, never went back for follow up CT scans. We did not have medical insurance for a year. What we have now is one of those huge deductible deals. I think though, that depending on what the x-rays he has today show, he might be willing to go in for a CT scan now. I really sincerely hope so. Because if it shows all clear, I can only imagine the amount of relief I/we will have. I have been living with some level of fear for so long. Just always wondering.
I have been using EVERY tool and tactic to fight my anxiety through the long nights that he can't sleep because of the pain. I have to say, I have surprised myself with how well I have managed to hold together. What is scaring me is, if we do get some sort of bad news, how well will I hold up with that?
Please keep me in your kind hearts and thoughts! I need my DS group right now! Thanks to all of you for being here. Have a beautiful day.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

My husband did have a couple of x-rays done on Thursday, so hopefully we'll get those results Monday or Tuesday. Then we'll know if they show anything, or if we need to move on to other tests.
Thanks again. Big hug to you.
Sometimes, that face-to-face is a good method, and so glad it's available to you!
Best wishes for complete recovery!
