Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I have been dealing with anxiety/panic attacks since 1988...I have years in between where I forgot I ever had anxiety and then all of a sudden something triggers again and it comes back. Two years ago I had a flare up and after a few months I was back to just being me.This time I woke up to get ready for a Dr's appt and I am always a little anxious when I go see my Dr,but nothing I can't handle. This time though I was getting ready to leave and it hit me,back to back panic attacks.I couldn't leave the house.
It always starts with the same symptom..the one I hate the most which is the heart racing...It scares me to have my heart race that fast...Had annual EKG at Dr's appt on the 27th and it was normal.I thought that would relieve the anxiety and it did a little....
I am okay for the most part during the day...it is the morning that is hard..As soon as my eyes open I feel it coming and then starts the racing heart...
Does anyone else experience the morning anxiety and have you found anything that helps....I suspect this round of anxiety was triggered by perimenopause as there are other things going on and I should be heading into menopause....
Thank You =)

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Now I have a hard time remembering exactly what those feelings were like. It's been such a long time since I had a panic attack.
I know you are doing the 12 weeks but I just wanted you to know that I too felt these exact same horrible feelings that you are currently experiencing. They will go away once you learn what is causing them and how to make them stop. Week Two will be very helpful for you.
Just so you know...there is nothing wrong with you. You brain has just made it a habit of turning on you fight or flight response due to a trigger...I will talk about that in Week Three. One more thing...your body is acting perfectly normal to the thoughts you are automatically entering....again....you I'll learn how to correct this!
If you really need immediate help IM me. The main reason we do the post weekly though is to make these changes that you are about to make permanent. To much information, to soon, does not give our brains a chance to make the changes needed to completely overcome anxiety and depression.
My best to you and your journey!

I've recently started therapy within the last 3 months for anxiety, and my only guess is that as I work on things and bring them up more - that I am simply more aware my anxiety is there. I give it attention. I wake up hopeful it's a new day, and a better day, but in having those thoughts - I am setting an expectation that causes me anxiety. I very much understand I need to simply let go and follow the day, rather than lead, but it is so much easier said than done.
You most certainly are not alone in this though! Although I haven't found anything to help beat it 100%, I have found that going to Google and downloading positive quotes can definitely help. There are quite a few on there for anxiety and I've found that reading quotes in the morning can re-frame my mind and take me from prisoner to optimist.
Hang in there! There are so many wonderful people in this forum that have shown me everyone can beat this :)
First, relax the muscles all over before I move.
Second, I get up, move muscles.
Third, I focus in the moment.
I know, simple. Prior to scheduling my morning wake-up routine, I would fly into motion with no single direction to my thoughts, which can quickly find chaos and confusion. By scheduling the simple task first, it gives my brain time to wake up naturally without all the extra "boom, boom".
Best wishes!
I am 99% sure that the kick off of this is perimenopause given some other things going on.!!!
I noticed that a lot of others have the heart racing or pounding as well.!! Had a EKG Dr the 27th of March although my heart wasn't doing the boom boom or racing then,He said my EKG was normal and no change from last year.!! Thought that would make me feel better.!!!
Actually I have had an EKG when I was have the heart racing and the ER found nothing.!!! It still scares me though.!!!
