Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

I would ask you to consider that you are a young female with a cosmetic medical condition and not a "monster." At this age looks are very important to a person and so as I see it you have two choices to make; Go your own way and understand that some people will be critical and learn to overcome the anxiety. Or, consider a wig for occasional use until you can build up confidence in yourself and anxiety is no longer a factor.
I know some girls my daughters age who wish they didn't have all that "ugly body hair" on their arms, legs, armpits and upper lip. I wish you peace and success in your life.
Perhaps one of my most monstrous residuals from surviving child prostitution is envy of folks whose feelings of monstrosity has a physical tell. Since I *look* normal, everybody expects me to *be* normal and? ? ? Well? ? ? Overcoming the devastation of child prostitution isn't as easy as picking out a fashion rag from a store rack. I relate all too well with that fear of never being accepted for my true self.
But that is me. . . I just want you to be you, as well. Listening. . .
For what it's worth
Thick, enviable hair runs in my family. It gives me head sweats so badly that I often shave my head just for relief from the continual, salty sweat in my eyes. Given the criminal dysfunctions of my birth family, I often wonder if our legacy of enviable hair comes at the price of boiled brain syndrome. Just wondering. . .
Be proud of who you are, in the mirror. Write out all those feelings, thoughts, emotions, and words in a private journal.
Practice holding your head steady, straight, and calm, shoulders down, and smile until you can see the smile all over. Be kind to yourself.
The beauty shines from within.
Learn how to be comfortable just as you are. Be kind to your self.
Welcome to the anxiety board at DS.
Best wishes as you focus on your better balance.
There are some women who spend thousands of hours and time on diets. I happened to see a friend of my wife, she was happy, quite confident of herself- not in a bad way, and somewhat heavy. Her husband is nice and they looked like they had a happy marriage.
So if you're comfortable, go for it. There are people who are gay, or transgender, and now go out. Maybe there's some staring at them, but hopefully they're doing it because it feels right and they are comfortable.
You really can't dictate how people feel, just how you respond. If you feel its right going out, then do it. If you feel more comfortable with what accoutrement do that, its your and your call. I would not be surprised if you found a guy, who found beauty in you. Good luck.
