So i currently live with my parents, i had an apartment back in june but it got broken into so i moved back in with my parents. I live an hour away from my boyfriend so any time i get a few days off which is every few weeks i go and stay with him. Well my parents have been complaining and don't want me going to see him much any more for reasons that i don't understand. Being there is the only peace i get. Being in this house is like literal HELL. Ive tried so hard to find my own apartment but i can't afford them. Ive applied for thousands of jobs and only the ones paying minimum wage call me back. They're extremely unsupportive. Living here is not helping my mental health but I literally have no where else to go. When i leave for those few days my parents let my sisters absolutely TRASH my room. Their excuse is "well you shouldn't have left" i give them money to help with bills and still don't get personal space. I don't have friends here. No family either since i moved away from them a few years ago so there majority of my family stay 11 hours away

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

Second, downsize everything you have in your room that you want to save, keep, and use into a space that you can keep locked and stored safely.
Third, what your parents say is their opinion and how you respond is your responsibility. You are NOT responsible for what they say, do, react, and respond. So, practice keeping your response positive, simple, and work on your plan.
In this time, figure out what you're willing to do to make your plan happen. Working two jobs may help you save money, keep you busy, and provide a way out.
It's hard living as an adult with parents who have zero boundaries for space.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
I started most of my first jobs at minimum wage. And soon, I would be promoted up to higher paying positions at the same company.
There will be perks too. Benefits, such as health insurance, sick pay, vacation paid time off. If it's retail, they usually give up to a 30% discount on buying their merchandise.
I loved working those jobs. Was so fun. Made so many new friends. Had my own money. Had freedom.
Sometimes you have to start somewhere, and some money coming in is better than no money coming in. Plus, it gets you away from your parents for the day! Good luck. You got this!
I hope the new year brings you a better job and a new place
