Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
I have really bad social anxiety, it can get to the point where I can't even text people out of worry that I might be bothering them. In most situations when I do text it can take me 20 minutes to write out one sentence. Physical interaction can be worse. There are times where I feel like I am invisible because it seems like no one hears what I have to say or even acts like I started talking. The other one is that people ask me questions and then they won't bother to wait for an answer.
I feel like I am overshadowed by everyone and with everything else that is going on in my life. I feel like I can't talk about good things in my life because everyone else's is more important so it is heard about more. I don't feel like I can talk about the bad things in my life because no one has time to listen to all of the negative things that are going on in my life. I feel isolated and alone even though just while writing this I have 20 people in the same building.
I want to be able to talk to people without every thought being a concern of whether or not the person that I am talking to likes me. I want to make friends. I want to be able to talk to my friends, family, and coworkers without feeling like I am invisible or less than everyone else.

And I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. We're going to the Squatch Fest! (Bigfoot)

I am taking mine one step at a time and getting by with a little help from my friends and offering emotional support in return. Gentle support while you find what works for you.
Just like any chronic behavioral disorder it can only get better with exercises and practice. I agree that therapy is important, but it has to be the right fit. The therapist has to give you “ homework” and expect results, not just have you talk about your feelings.
Good luck and I hope you reach your goal!
Therapy helps, but not as much as I am hoping for. It helps to have someone who takes the negative of what I think and try to change it for an hour a week. The major problem is that their voice isn't in my head the rest of the time, and I have a really hard time believing in myself.
