Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...
Hey y'all. I'm new to this group so I'm just trying to find my way. I'm dealing with something that definitely gives me anxiety. I'm open to any advice but advice from professionals would be best. Imagine living in a small household with the only family you have. Imagine you're already kinda the black sheep of the family & your half sibling has been telling people you've been abusing their child, even though you've been 1 of the child's primary caretakers since she was born. Now you know for a fact the half sibling is abusing the child & they're only saying this because they don't like you, which is fine but your concern is what they say to other people. Child abuse is nothing to play with. To further complicate things, the half sibling is an fbi agent so you're afraid of the connections they have, even though you have no problem going toe to toe with them personally. What would you do? Please understand how volatile this is, 1 because of it being a family matter in a small house, 2. because of the fed status, so saying something like call 9 1 1 is too basic. If this is the wrong place for this kind of question, let me know.

It's going to get hotter here with Thursday being the hottest. It's noon and 75f feels more like 80 or more.I've been cleaning up the deck in this morning and cleaning the windows outside. Then I cut up a pallet in half, I've decided to call it quits now because I went a bit light headed. Joanne, some drugs we take have an effect on us in the heat, I know a couple of mine do, maybe yours...

Rather than trying to imagine your life and formulate advice based on what I am imagining, I would like to encourage you to keep venting and sorting in your own words. Even when I have a front row seat to all the gory details, I believe the best and most sustainable solutions come from the heart of the person who has to do the do.
In my personal experience with family dysfunctions, etc., the sorting is easier with strong emotional support and that is where my therapy support network comes in. DS is one of the nodes on my therapy support network. I hope it helps you as much as it has helped me.
Welcome aboard. Hope you find stabilizing companionship here.
Listening. . .
You've taken the important step of writing it out and this is a safe place to vent.
Along with Arfie, I agree that you will find the best option through sorting out the options for your well-being and your venting will help you see the patterns of your thoughts so you can move them into a direction with a plan.
I will add this: you are not responsible for what others say, do, react, and respond. You are responsible for what you say, do, react, and respond. In changing your response to improve your well-being, you'll notice that their usual response will no longer fit and it will change, often for the worse before it gets better.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
You are not alone, Seeking.
Does your mom know the truth about your half sibling?
Agree with you moving out of this household. It does not sound like a healthy environment. Can you move in with another relative?
Them accusing you of child abuse is a very serious accusation. You could go to jail. Is that what you really want.
Have you talked to your Mom... how does she feel about your sibling making these accusations about you?
It's a tough time and you're in a difficult situation. I wish you all the best as you proceed.
