Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hi....Hello. So...Hi. I'm new to the site. New to the group...just...new. A friend recommended it because I really miss having group since covid started. Anyway, the reason I'm posting (other than to be super awkward) is I could really use some solidarity here. Today I was supposed to have lunch with my bonus dad. I cancelled. Becuase I couldn't bear the thought of leaving the house. I've always had social anxiety, but its like when quarantine happened it fed my mental illness. It gave me a reason to hide. Now my state is starting to lift some restrictions and people are going out again..and I just gotta know, am I the only one having trouble reassimilating into the world? I know from therapy I have a tendency to isolate myself in thinking i'm alone...but, I'm not right? I cant be the only one struggling with this....right?
Right?

You've taken the important first step in writing it out.
Go. Do Things. That's the best way to move through the process. One foot in front of the other.
Just know I'm here to talk if you ever need it! Stay strong dear
So welcoming you here. You know that we are all here for you my friend. Talk anytime.
I feel like global shutdown invalidated 40 odd years of psychotherapy. My own isolation habits are so intense that I went through years of therapy for social distancing before the COVID powers declared social distancing by marshal law. My 3 orphans and I have been isolated with some hideous psych issues that mean nothing in COVID eyes. Maintain proper social distance, please.
Now that things appear to be opening up again, I find myself feeling more socially distant than I did as a child prostitute. My social anxiety web seems to have acquired previously unknown psycho snot knots.
You are far from alone.
Healing hopes for all. No exceptions.
