Hello,
I am also new. I was diagnosed with OCD and Depression back in 2005. Sometimes I think what I have resembles GAD more than OCD and the OCD that I have is more of a "pure o" type. Sometimes I feel like maybe I don't relate as much to those with OCD because it is not the stereotypical OCD where I am always washing my hands or checking the stove.
I tend to be a worry wart and I am interested in living the best, most positive life possible. I would like to come to accept my anxiety as something that is part of me rather than trying to ignore it or feeling bad about myself for having it. I struggle with even accepting that I have anxiety.

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

My feeling is that addressing the underlying anxiety is the key. I'm still learning and working out what is best for me, but the things that have helped me most so far are cognitive behavioral therapy, Lexapro, yoga, and meditation. I also think a really healthy diet that's low in refined sugar and no processed foods helps a lot. I've been pretty bad about that lately, but I know it helps.
Yep, when you recognize your tendencies to get OCD tasks, it usually is connected with a particular activity, thought, or action. Best wishes.
