Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hello all. I just need to vent & some advice. I was working 2 jobs a few weeks ago & ended up having an anxiety attack while I was working & quit. I ended up quitting both of my jobs. My anxiety & depression has been so bad lately I don't even know what to do anymore. I was smoking weed to keep myself calm but my boyfriend & I have quit (he got a new job & has to stay clean). I've tried to get medicaid twice so I can get to a doctor but here in VA they won't give it to you unless you're pregnant or disabled. I'm applying for disability now but who knows if I'll be approved for that. I'm just at a loss right now. I just want to feel normalish & be calm. I don't want to be like this. I just want to be happy. I'm having a hard time even leaving the house. I don't want to be around people. I even had a hard time getting gas the other day. It all just sucks. =(

Personally, I don't like advice giving/taking. To my senses, advice, both new and old, just gives me more psycho weirds to sort through. I'm confused enough already, thank you kindly. What I look for in my own peer support is the sharing of strictly personal experience.
"This worked for me. . ."
"That bombed for me when I tried it. . ."
Etcetera, etceteri. . .
But that is my preference and there is plenty of advice giving here, as well. *Just* take what works for you and leave the rest. . .
Welcome aboard.
Stay hydrated, practice breathing exercises, and use motion to distract your thought patterns.
Mid- Yes, anxiety is natural but it's unnatural to have this much. I have tried to treat it naturally so no, I need medication. I have tried doing it without medication numerous times. So thanks for your input but that doesn't work for me.
It takes all sorts of ways to find what works in the moment for releasing anxiety that you are experiencing.
Best wishes finding medication that will help you.
I agree with the individual who mentioned the breathing exercises. My wife and I now meditate together using an app we found (headspace)....there are probably others.
Lastly...force your self out...even for a walk around the block. Your body will feel better and you will feel like you got something done, which will be a positive feeling.
Good luck
