Anxiety Support Group
Anxiety is a physical condition marked by intense and persistent feelings of distress, fear, angst or dread. General anxiety caused by routine day-to-day stresses usually passes quickly and is experienced by almost everyone at one time or another. However, such feelings that linger over time and are very difficult to cope with, and which lack a clear cause, may indicate...

Hello,
I am new to this site and was very glad when I found it. I have been dealing with anxiety for going on 7 yrs now. The first time it happened to me I ended up in the hospital thinking I was going to die. It was one of the most horrible things I ever had to experience. Shortly after I visited my Primary care Dr. that was when I was put on anxiety meds for the first time in my life. For a few months it worked the way it was suppose to, the only thing I didn't enjoy was some side effects like sleppiness, weight gain and my emotions were numb. They were so numb to the point were I would watch movies that were pretty horrific. Things any noraml person with emtions should be bothered watching.
I didn't like the person I was becoming. Also the more I was on these meds the more panic attacks I started to endure. Its like the meds started to counteract on me. So that is when I decided to get off of them completely. For the first few months it was tough but I kept telling myself the other option was no longer an option for me, so that is what kept me staying strong. I have been off anxiety meds for 6 yrs now and don't ever plan to go back on them. I still have bad days and I am sure they will never completely go away, but its the way I handle them now is what is important. I just wanted to share my story to show anyone else that is going through it, to know there is hope for a better quailty of life.
I also got some blood work done and found I was really low in vitamins B12, D and magnesium. The Dr. told me being deficient on certain vitamins can cause a lot of anxiety and depression. I have been on a new diet, exercise and vitamin regimen it has helped so much. Running/walking helps a lot with mental health. I use to hate running but it has helped tremendously. That said, I am not against taking medication. I understand everyone has their own journey I am just sharing mine. A good support system is also key and I know not everyone has those, not even myslef. It helps so much to connect with others that understand your struggles and can relate. I still struggle with my demons everyday and haven't had the best last couple of weeks. With all thats going on in the world today it definitely doesnt help. Look forward to talking with you all. =)

I did the dumbest thing today. I charged my earbuds, unplugged the block and put the block in my little bag instead of the earbuds. I wasn't happy about that when I got to the gym. What a dummy!

I have to confess I was not able to read your entire post. My tired old eyes tend to turn long paragraphs into big black smudges on the computer screen.
But I was able to read the first and last sentences. I am looking forward to talking with you, as well. Welcome aboard.
World at the moment is a crazy place, I hope you are dealing well with your demons okay,
Alway here to talk if you need it.
Have a good evening or night, whereever you are from lol
When people write it all out without a single separation of sentences, it is a jumble of words to read. That's all your words, feelings, emotions, and thoughts trying to be expressed all at the same time.
Taking the time to separate the words, thoughts, emotions, and feelings is part of the finding your better balance.
What happens when your anxiety medicine starts working is often the next worst symptoms pops up in first place, thus seeming to feel worse, in reality, you're recovering your balance in one symptom, so you are working on the next, then the next.
Anxiety is natural, so it is a part of you.
Best wishes as you find your better balance.
I am sorry if my post was hard to understand in any way. The whole point of this website is to be able to express your emotions and feelings. I would like to respond to Mid. Mid I am sort of confused by what you're referring to with my post? My separation in sentences? Are you referring to them not having the proper grammar? Or was it to difficult to understand what I was trying to say? I have been Reading several posts from others on here and many write long emotional posts. Unless I am getting your message wrong, sometimes when people have a lot to say they are just venting and trying to release. To Respond towards my medication experience, I was on it for 2 years so that would be more than enough time for it to adjust and " fix " my problem. Like I clarified in my post I am not against medication, everyone has their own journey. Thank you all for your best wishes and support. =)
The eye comfort of computer weary community members aside, long, run-on paragraphs are as difficult to read and sort as racing, jumbled thoughts and emotions. Paragraphs help break the issues down to organized, manageable topics which can be tackled one issue at a time.
For what it's worth
For the visual discomfort I and many others feel when attempting to read long paragraphs, the paragraph breaks provide relief for the eye strain.
Another for what it's worth
I, too, prefer to manage my mental health conditions without medication. I have used and remain willing to use drugs when needed but believe I gain more sustainable relief from a broader approach.
I'm so glad that my post reached out to you. Its always good to talk to someone else who understands what you're going through or been through. When I was on medication it did the same thing to me also, made me mellow and super sleepy and non-productive. On occasion when I have really bad days my Dr. prescribes me Valium 5mg and that helps me just relax and regroup. I don't take them hardly ever, maybe once or twice every few months. Exercising, positive thinking, eating as healthy as you can and taking your vitamins is key. I hope you start seeing better days soon! If you ever need someone to talk to just inbox me! Just remember to breath and put yourself first! You will get through this! God bless! =)
