Is anyone bothered by the sounds of fireworks? The load bangs and firecrackers? Every year I struggle with the fireworks her in the US from fireworks set off around our Independence Day. After being shot at, having a gun in my face and a tragic thing that happened in my childhood where one of my neighborhood playmates went up in flames and looked like a monster after, it all really bothers me. I turn the tv on to try to escape it. I make sure I take my anxiety meds. I just can't shake the fear I feel. Does anyone have techniques they use? Or suggestions?

Buttttttaaaa. . . This year finds me hoping for that touch of the old normal. I think the fireworks have been CFC (closed for corona) this year.
If you have headphones put those on and put some nice relaxing music on. That will help block out the noise. Put ear plugs in your ears. Turning up the T.V. will help drown out the noise. Hopefully it won't go on to long the fireworks. Good luck. Italianmomma
Fireworks have been shut down in my County, so all I will hear tonight will be the illegal ones... and that's a scary thought in and of itself!
Hope you are doing better now.
I wonder if cancelling all the legal fireworks shows here was the best idea. Just brings out more illegal ones.
I TOTALLY understand! I was prior military and a combat Vet! The sound of fireworks, especially VERY LOUD ones makes me feel quite jittery and I start to have flashbacks. I have found headphones, earplugs, music, and watching movies/TV to ease anxiety. I try to watch funny things in order to laugh and stay indoors. I always remind myself that "this too shall pass," and it does. I hope that the suggestions help and that you are feeling much better today! I hope and pray that you will fully recover from all of the horrible trauma which you have endured!
